No. Physiotherapists are primary practitioners, meaning they are qualified to be your first point of call for any injury or condition you may need to review. However, if you have been referred by another health professional, please bring the referral with you as this will help in better directing your care.

Wear comfortable clothing that will allow your therapist to see and treat the area of injury and allow you to move comfortably. Gowns are available if required.

Generally not. However, there may be an exception if your doctor has provided you with a Chronic Disease Management Plan. You may also be eligible for up to 5 sessions a year if you have the appropriate referral.

Physio Health Clinic’s Hicaps terminal allows you to immediately make a claim on your private health insurance at the time of your appointment. How much your insurance pays will depend on your insurance provider and level of cover.

Physio Health Clinic accepts Third Party and Workers Comp patients. Make sure you bring a referral from your doctor and claim.

Your initial consultation will be approximately 45 minutes, and follow up consultations for the same injury will be 30-40 minutes.

The total number of treatment sessions you need, as well as the frequency of each session, will be variable depending on your type of injury, complexity of pain and own commitments. In your initial consultation, your therapist will give you a rough estimate of the number and frequency of sessions required to get you to your goal.
